Featured Event: Strategies to Support Active and Collaborative Learning

January 29, 10:00-12:00 PM
In this workshop we will explore strategies to enhance student engagement, promote dialogue, and encourage deep learning. During the workshop you will experience a range of new strategies through demonstrations and peer sharing, and develop a plan to incorporate selected strategies into your courses.

Safer Spaces Workshops

SEDE, in collaboration with Teaching and Learning Services, First Peoples' House, and the Office for Students with Disabilities, offers Safer Spaces, a regular schedule of training for staff, faculty, and graduate students.

Designing Effective Multiple Choice Questions

Would you like to improve the quality of your Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)? Would you like to learn how to use MCQs to assess higher order thinking skills such as application and analysis? If so, join a group of fellow instructors for a workshop about the principles of well-designed multiple-choice questions.

New Kanopy Video Streaming Service

The Library has recently introduced the new video streaming service, Kanopy. Kanopy’s award-winning collection includes the Criterion Collection, PBS, Kino Lorber, California Newsreel and hundreds of other leading producers. You can create clips or teaching playlists and embed them into your course system.

Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) offers one-on-one consultations and group workshops on using myCourses, clickers, active learning classrooms, and classroom A/V technology. Do you know how to use the AV equipment in your classroom?

Find out what equipment is available to you and how to operate it. Go to the classroom AV instructions tool to see photos of your room, a list of equipment, and step-by-step instructions.

Lecture Recording

The lecture recording service has been improved with two new features: viewing recording statistics and an integrated student / instructor interface. Additionally, the sign-up procedure has been simplified. Follow these instructions in the IT Knowledgebase to sign up to record your lectures and make them available to your students.
