List and Data Management

Whether you've been managing your data using a simple Excel file or a complex database, you can quickly import it into BetterMail and begin using it to engage through email. Not only that, it's easy to analyze, segment and utilize the data once you start with features like custom fields, interests, groups and filters that allow you to build on each campaign as you learn more about the people you're engaging with.

Easy Importing/Exporting

It's easy to import data like contact lists into BetterMail using a simple Import Mapping feature that takes your data and automatically puts it into the correct fields. Virtually any comma separated (CSV) or tab-delimited (TXT) file can be imported quickly. Any changes to your list, such as unsubscribe requests, are automatically tracked - you can export the list and synchronize it with your main database.

Custom Fields & Interest Groups

Every organization has different needs when it comes to managing its data. With BetterMail, you can create as many Custom Fields as necessary to store extra info you need, and create as many Interests and Interest Groups as you like to help manage your data. Unlike some email software programs, BetterMail adapts to fit your needs, rather than the other way around.

List Segmentation - Using "Filters"

Use the "Filter" function to segment and select group within your database based on any criteria your need for a campaign or for more analysis. For example, you could have a database of 1,000 people, with an "Interest" field that tracks favourite colour - red, green or blue. Using the Filter feature, you can quickly create a contact list of only people who like red and green. Or you can create a list of people who like red and green and live in Canada. You can even create a list of people who like red and green, live in Canada, and didn't open the message from your last campaign! Combining Filters and Interests, you can find and select a group of contacts in your database using virtually any criteria you choose. This feature helps you build and manage more sophisticated email marketing campaigns, particularly as you learn more about your customers.

Forms

BetterMail's web form feature allows you to add any type of form to your website or landing pages to capture visitor data and grow your list. These range from simple Name and Email Address forms to more complex, Interest-based forms using Custom Fields, check boxes and drop downs that allow people to give you more information, and specify the type of information they want to receive from you. In addition, every form can trigger an auto responder series to go out to the contact, and send an email notification to you to alert you of the submission.
